Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell was dropped from the playing XI in IND vs AUS 2nd ODI. Australia captain Steve Smith revealed at the toss that Glenn Maxwell was dropped from the team and Nathan Ellis was picked in his place.

During the toss, Steve Smith revealed that Glenn Maxwell was dropped from the playing XI as he pulled up a muscle soreness. Maxwell was limping toward the end of the last match. Pacer Nathan Ellis has replaced him in the playing XI.

“We will have a bowl. Different surface, been under covers for a while, might do something. Just a partnership through the middle would have helped us. It’s a good learning for us playing on these surfaces. Ellis comes in for Maxwell who has pulled up a bit sore and Carey is back for Inglis,” Steve Smith said during the toss.

Glenn Maxwell could only score 8 runs in the last match. Wicketkeeper Alex Carey was sick during the last match and did not play. He came back in the playing 11 in the 2nd ODI. Meanwhile, David Warner was still not part of the playing XI and Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh will open the inning for Australia.

Talking about Team India, they have two changes from the last game. Skipper Rohit Sharma has replaced Ishan Kishan in the team. Shardul Thakur has been replaced by Axar Patel in the playing XI. The rest of the team remains the same.
