Australia has named a 15-member side with all their white-ball specialists back in the side. They will be led by Steve Smith with Pat Cummins preferring to stay back at home after the demise of his mother. The side is struggling with injury concerns of Glenn Maxwell and David Warner. Warner needs to get a medical clearance to feature in the first ODI after getting treatment for his injured left elbow. 

The Men In Blue will be led by Hardik Pandya in the first ODI with Rohit Sharma unavailable for personal reasons. He will be back for the second ODI. India are already missing the services of Jasprit Bumrah and now Shreyas Iyer has also been ruled out after he aggravated his lower-back injury. He was taken for scans during the ongoing fourth Test and did not feature in the Test match in the last couple of days. He also did not bat for India in the first innings.

India last played an ODI and T20I series against New Zealand at home. They defeated New Zealand in the ODI series 3-0. India also won the T20I series 2-1, by winning the 2nd and 3rd T20I after losing the opening match. Australia won the last ODI series they played against England 3-0 back in November 2022.
