KL Rahul, who was facing criticism due to his poor batting shows, grabbed the limelight by leading India to victory against Australia. Chasing 189 in the match, India had lost 4 wickets for just 39 runs. However, the right-handed batter kept his patience and drove the team to victory by 5 wickets in the end.

KL Rahul was also the wicketkeeper for India in the match. He also grabbed some brilliant catches to dismiss Aussies players. Recently during IND vs AUS Test series, Rahul was dropped as India’s vice-captain. He also lost his place as an opener in the playing XI in the 3rd and 4th Test, after hitting just 38 runs in the first two games.
However, the right-handed batsman made a comeback in the opening ODI game against India, smashing an unbeaten 75 to lead the team to victory in a tricky chase. He also built a partnership of 108 runs with Ravindra Jadeja in the match, which helped the team to emerge as eventual winners.
With the victory in the opening game, India leads the three-match series 1-0. The IND vs AUS 2nd ODI takes place on March 19 (Sunday) in Vizag. Rohit Sharma, who missed the first ODI, will be back to lead the team in the 2nd ODI.
