The ODI series is being played in South Africa and hence a loss in this series would open up opportunities for the Windies and Sri Lanka. Cricket South Africa (CSA) has already informed the BCCI that the IPL-bound players will be available from March 3 with an ODI series against the Netherlands coming up as well.
South Africa last played an ODI series against England which they won 2-1. West Indies, on the other hand, lost their previous ODI series against New Zealand 2-1 back in August 2022.
