Mitchell Marsh And Travis Head Make History As Australia Register Their 3rd Fastest Chase In ODI Cricket

In the second ODI of the three-match series between Australia and India at the Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, Australia achieved a record-breaking victory by 10 wickets.

Mitchell Starc was the key player in the first innings, taking his ninth five-wicket haul in ODI cricket and causing India to record their fourth-lowest total at home. Australia’s openers then dominated the Indian bowlers, with Mitchell Marsh scoring an unbeaten 66 off 36 balls, including six sixes, and Travis Head scoring 51 not out to secure the victory for the tourists.

This was Australia’s third-fastest chase, completed in just 11 overs, and has now secured their place in the history books. Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh set a remarkable partnership record of 121 runs from only 66 balls, at an impressive run rate of 11, making it the third-highest run rate for a century-opening partnership in ODI history.
