In the last season – which was held in Oman – World Giants came out victorious by 25 runs against Asia Lions in the LLC final as the two teams finished the league stage as top-two. While India Maharajas once again failed to qualify for the finals for the second season.
The final of this edition, which is being held in Qatar, will be held at the Asian Town Cricket Stadium in Doha on Monday (March 20). And it will be interesting to see whether the World Giants manage to defend their title or will it be the Asia Lions who will roar to success.
LLC Masters 2023 Road to Final
World Giants were the first to book their place in the final as table toppers but they don’t look clear favourites for the Aaron Finch-led side lost to the Asia Lions in a rain-affected 10-over per side contest.
In the reverse fixture between the two sides, the Lions suffered a defeat by 20 runs at the hands of the Giants. They were also trounced by India Maharajas by ten wickets in the other game.
But they entered the LLC Masters final by defeating India Maharajas by 85 runs in the eliminator. It was the biggest victory margin in the season and their score of 191 for 5 was also the highest score of this season.

Aaron Finch, skipper of World Giants: “Nothing can be taken for granted in this final. As we had done in the earlier matches, we have to give our best if we want to lift the trophy. Everyone here is a legend, and no one needs to be told how to win a final. They are all players who have fought many a battle during their international cricketing days.”
Shahid Afridi, captain of Asia Lions: “Everyone knows their job; everyone has played in many finals. What is needed from them is to get out there and enjoy the contest and come back the winner.”
