The 29-year-old Australia National Cricket Team batter Travis Head was delighted after a dominant 10-wicket victory of his side over the India National Cricket Team in the second ODI of the three-match series at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam on Sunday, March 19.

Australia won the toss and invited India to bat first in the match. Indian batters failed miserably as pace spearhead Mitchell Starc ran through the top-order batting unit. The left-arm seamer bagged his 9th 5-wicket haul in ODIs. Only Waqar Younis (13) and Muttiah Muralitharan (10) have more 5-wicket hauls than Starc in 50-over cricket.

Sean Abbott and Nathan Ellis supported Starc very well and picked up the remaining wickets to bundle out India for a low score of 117.

Chasing the target, Aussie openers Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh came out all guns blazing. The Aussies made a mockery of Indian bowlers and completed the run-chase in 11 overs, which was Australia’s third-fastest run-chase in the history of ODI cricket.

It’s very rare that both of us go at the same time – Travis Head

Speaking on Star Sports after the match, Travis Head said that it’s great to have an opening partner like Mitchell Marsh at the other end.

“Nice to contribute, really good to get a partnership going. We were a bit settled today and took our time. Last game, I went hard early to push the envelope. It’s nice to have the big fella at the other end when he hits them into the top tier,” Travis Head said.

“We were hoping that one of us gets away. It’s very rare that both of us go at the same time. Throughout my experience opening the batting, if one guy is going, you try to support that. Today it was a short total, we both felt like going. We played really calculated. It was a nice partnership, very enjoyable,” Travis Head added.
