“It Is Horrible Standing At Slip When Mitchell Starc Bowls” – Mitchell Marsh

The 31-year-old Australia National Cricket Team all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has revealed why it is a horrible experience for the fielders standing in the slips when the pace spearhead Mitchell Starc bowls.

The left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc looked at his absolute best and he bowled impeccable lines and lengths in the second ODI against India at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam.

He picked huge wickets of Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav and KL Rahul and then cleaned up Mohammed Siraj to complete his remarkable 5-wicket haul. This was Mitchell Starc’s 9th 5-wicket haul in ODIs. Only Waqar Younis (13) and Muttiah Muralitharan (10) have more 5-wicket hauls than Starc in 50-over cricket.

Speaking on Star Sports after the match, Mitchell Marsh heaped praise on Starc and revealed why it’s horrible standing at slips when he bowls.

“(On Starc) He’s been brilliant, it is horrible standing at slip when he bowls because it flies at about 80 miles an hour off the edge. But it is great to see him bowl like this, we now have a rare chance to win an away series in India,” Mitchell Marsh said.

“It was a bit of fun. Always nice to get a good start when you’re chasing a small total like that. I was hoping Head would get off to a flier and I could play it slow. To be honest, I’ve been enjoying playing swing and batting up the order,” Mitchell Marsh added.

India were hit by the Mitchell Storm – Venkatesh Prasad on Mitchell Starc and Mitchell Marsh

After the conclusion of the second ODI between India and Australia, former India National Cricket Team player Venkatesh Prasad took to Twitter to state that Rohit Sharma & Co. were hit by Mitchell Storm, referring to the batting performance of Mitchell Marsh and the bowling performance of Mitchell Starc.

“Today there were chances of a storm. But India were hit by the Mitchell Storm with both bat and ball. #IndvsAus,” Venkatesh Prasad tweeted after the match.

Chasing a modest total of 118, Australia openers Marsh (66) and Travis Head (51) batted exceptionally well to power their side to a dominant 10-wicket victory over the hosts to level the series 1-1.
