Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina mocks Shahid Afridi during the Legends League Cricket (LLC) press conference on Wednesday after the match between the Maharajas and the Giants. Suresh Raina made some interesting remarks about his return to the Indian Premier League for the upcoming season, which have gone viral on social media.

Suresh Raina is currently representing the India Maharajas in the third edition of the Legends League Cricket (LLC). The left-handed batsman batted well during the team’s last league game against the World Giants on Wednesday, March 16. He was batted at No. 4 and helped the Maharajas reach a total of 136 runs, scoring 49 runs off 41 balls.

During the press conference after a match with the India Maharajas, Suresh Raina was asked about the possibility of his comeback in the IPL after his superb show in Legends League Cricket.

“Everyone wants you back in the IPL after your performance tonight in Legends League Cricket,” a reporter asked.

Suresh Raina responded with a hilarious response by saying he had taken retirement and bursting into laughter.

“Main Suresh Raina hoon. Main Shahid Afridi nahi hoon. Retirement le chuka hoon (I’m Suresh Raina, not Shahid Afridi. I’ve taken retirement),” the former Chennai Super Kings batter said.

Suresh Raina announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020. The left-handed batter represented CSK in the 2021 edition of the IPL, but he went unsold in the 2022 auction. The southpaw was one of the most successful batsmen in the IPL, having won four titles in his career. The 36-year-old represented the Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Lions during his IPL career.

The southpaw played for the Gujarat Titans in the 2017 and 2018 seasons. He is called Mr IPL and is the fifth-highest run scorer in the cash-rich league with 5528 runs in 205 games, including 1 century and 39 half-centuries. He played 226 ODIs, 78 T20Is, and 18 Tests for India and was a member of the 2011 ODI World Cup squad. He was the first Indian batter to score a century in all three formats.
