India have got into complete control in the 1st ODI of the three-match series against Australia as the visitors suffered a terrible collapse after starting well in the first 20 overs. With less than 200 runs on the board to chase, this seems like an easy job for Indian openers Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan.
Despite losing Travis Head with just five runs on the board, Australia managed to get their innings back on track thanks to a great knock from Mitch Marsh who was the top scorer for his side with 81 runs off 65 deliveries.

Indian pacers have been right on the money with their bowling getting a constant upper hand on the Australian batters. The Indian fielders are also at the top of their game giving Australia no leeway to make a comeback in the game.

With wickets tumbling one after the other, the Australian tailenders tried to delay the collapse but failed against the relentless assault of the Indian bowlers. Mohammed Siraj struck in the 34th over after being brought back into the attack.Â
Sean Abbott who was yet to open his account tried to drive Siraj away but found the inside edge of his bat as the ball travelled towards Shubman Gill who jumped full stretch and bagged the ball out of thin air to send Abbott back on a duck.
With Australia almost down and out this seems like a game in India’s control and with a target under 200 runs on the board, it should be an easy task for openers Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan.
Shubman Gill has been in good touch with the bat as of late and will surely relish the chance of chasing the total and carrying the momentum from his ton in the 4th Test match in the Border Gavaskar Series.
