India suffered a massive drubbing at the hands of Australia in the second ODI of the three-match series as the visitors defeated India by 10 wickets with 39 overs to spare. Skipper Rohit Sharma who missed the first game was back on leadership responsibilities and looked unhappy with the outcome.
India had a terrible outing with the bat today as none of the batters apart from Virat Kohli and Axar Patel looked good against the Australian onslaught of Mitch Starc, Nathan Ellis, and Sean Abbott. Skipper Rohit Sharma failed on his return as he was dismissed by Starc before he could get going.

“It is disappointing. No doubt about that. We didn’t play to our potential. We didn’t apply ourselves with the bat. We always knew that was not enough runs. It was not a 117 pitch at all. By no means. We just didn’t apply ourselves.”
“[Starc] is a quality bowler. He’s been doing it for years for Australia with the new ball. He kept bowling to his strength and we kept falling to his strength. That’s something that we need to understand and play accordingly. All their bowlers bowled really well and put us under pressure.”
India with the big defeat will now look to bounce back in the third and final ODI of the series, Both teams have won one game and the series decider is surely going to be an exciting affair before we move towards another exciting season of the Indian Premier League.
